Donation Notes
All monthly donations are eligible for a tax receipt.

* Large Pig (Buddy, Cyrus, Eugene, Penny, Prince, and Violet) – $45/Month
* All other pigs – $30/month

Annabelle
Annabelle came into our care in November 2023 due to zoning issues. She is an absolute doll! Annabelle lives with Esme and they are best friends!

Blossom
Blossom came into our care with her sister, Flower. They came to us from a hoarding situation where they were abandoned after the house was sold. Their enclosure was full of garbage and their house was covered in dog feces. Blossom was morbidly obese, fat blind, and fat deaf when she arrived. She is currently on a diet to help her shed some weight to gain her sight, hearing, and mobility back. Blossom is also missing her tail which likely occurred from a dog attack. She is very shy, but we are slowly gaining her trust.

Buddy
Buddy came into our care in the fall of 2021. He is the largest pig at the Sanctuary at approximately 900 lbs. Buddy is a sweet soul and has the kindest eyes. He is an absolute lover of belly rubs and he will instantly drop to the ground at the slightest invitation of receiving one! He also thoroughly enjoys spending majority of his day napping.

Carl
Carl came to us with his brothers when their caretakers had to sell their farm and couldn’t take the boys with them. Carl is very shy around people and he absolutely loves a good nap in the sunshine. He is known as the Jay Leno of the pigs and has two dew claws on each of his front legs when he should only have one!

Charlie
Charlie was seized by the BC SPCA due to a pot belly pig hoarding situation in Ladysmith, B.C. in 2017. He is one of the sweetest pigs at the sanctuary and a LOVER of belly rubs from a trusted human. Whenever possible, he will spend his day eyes-deep in the dirt, searching for roots to munch on.

Charlotte
Charlotte is Charlie’s sister and she was seized by the BC SPCA due to a pot belly pig hoarding situation in Ladysmith, B.C. in 2017. Charlotte is incredibly social and likes to boss the boys around, typically with a quick nip in the bum.

Chuck
Chuck came into our care in the fall of 2021. He absolutely adores people and he will be the first one to lay on your legs when given the opportunity. He is also incredibly vocal at meal time and will send out a high pitched squeal until his food is delivered.

Clarabelle
Clarabelle and her sister, Winne, came into our care in November 2024 after they needed to be rehomed.

Cyrus
Cyrus came to us after a cruelty investigation by the BC SPCA and RCMP after several individuals attempted to end his life by stabbing him in the heart. Despite this horrific act of cruelty, Cyrus is quite fond of people. He is very vocal and will reward you with several approving grunts when you’re giving him affection.

Dudley
Dudley came into our care in the fall of 2021. His favorite treat is watermelon. He is very quick and is an expert at sneaking food from the big pigs whenever the chance arises.

Emma
Emma came into our care in the fall of 2021. She is very laid back and easy-going and loves to root around in the ground looking for a tasty treat. She is Mama to several of the other pot belly pigs in her herd.

Ernie
Ernie came into our care with Tony, Scarlett, Mabel, and Jeffrey in November 2023 due to an eviction. He currently weighs 360 pounds and has at least 150 pounds to lose. Ernie has least a year of rehab ahead of him and we will continue to update you on his health journey. Ernie is a sweetheart and lives with Mabel.

Esme
Esme came to the sanctuary after she was surrendered as a runt. As a Yorkshire pig, she is only 15% of the size she should be. She has a neurological disorder with a hypermetric gait, which results in her having a minor tremor. This also causes her to have a signature “prance” when she runs. She has a ferocious appetite and she is exceptionally active!
Esme lives with Annabelle and they are the best of friends. -

Eugene
Eugene is the stereotypical big, gruff dude that you are scared to make eye contact with, but who would be the first to whisk you off to safety at the first sign of danger approaching. Eugene and his sister, Violet,
have lived in peace and harmony at the sanctuary since 2017. -

Flower
Flower came into our care with her sister, Blossom. They came to us from a hoarder situation where they were abandoned after the house sold. Their enclosure was full of garbage and their house was covered in dog feces. Flower was morbidly obese, fat blind, and fat deaf when she arrived. She is currently on a diet to help her lose weight to gain her sight, hearing, and mobility back. Flower has some damage to her right ear which likely occurred from a dog attack. She is quite fond of people and will actively seek you out for a belly rub!

George
George came into our care after his caregivers fell on hard times and had to sell their farm. They tried numerous avenues to find him a new home, but were unsuccessful and desperate to find him a safe place. George loves people and, on the rarest occasion, he will flop over for a belly rub.

Gracie
Gracie was surrendered because she was continually nursing from the goats she was being kept with… yes, you read that right! She is one of our nippier pigs but she is a sucker for belly rubs. When tasks need to be done in her pen, we tag team with one volunteer rubbing her belly while the other one works.
Gracie has exceptional hearing and is always the first one to raise the food alarm bell. -

Hazel
Hazel came to us from the SPCA. We were asked to take her because she had been at the SPCA for several months and hadn’t found a forever home. Hazel adores people and reigns high in the pig hierarchy. Hazel is also Charlie and Charlotte’s mom, so we were very excited to reunite them with her.

Henry
Henry came into our care in the winter of 2024 after a call from a by-law officer. Over the course of three years, Henry has experienced being seized by the B.C. SPCA, moved between foster homes, and then returned to his original owner who then gave him to a friend who didn’t want him.
Henry is a loving and talkative boy. He enjoys nudging people for affection and can be heard jibber jabbering as he goes about his day. -

Huxley
Huxley came into our care in the fall of 2021. He is an expert at stealing food from the big pigs during meal time. You’ll often find him searching the ground for any dropped kibbles after meal time as well.

Jake
Jake came into our care with Skyler after they were abandoned on a property in the middle of winter. They were only being fed every second day, so we took them into our care immediately. Jake is very shy and has the most stunning eyes!

Jeffrey
Jeffrey came into our care with Tony, Scarlett, Mabel, and Ernie in November 2023 due to an eviction. Jeffrey is very friendly and loves affection.

Josie
Josie came into our care in the fall of 2021. She is very quick and moves around like rapid fire whenever treats are scattered on the ground. Her favourite treats are apples. She is very fond of cuddle puddles and you will frequently find her snuggled up with her brothers and sisters.

Juniper
Juniper came to us after she was seized by the SPCA. Just like Hazel, the Cowichan SPCA was not able to find her a forever home, so she came into our care. It’s an all too common story for full grown pot bellies, as it is difficult to find a home once they are out of the adorable piglet phase. Juniper is a love bug and asks for affection from everyone.

Juno
Juno came into our care in the fall of 2021 and he is the quickest pig in the Fern Valley herd. He loves burrowing so deep into the straw that you can barely see him. He is also one of the smallest pigs at the sanctuary.

Lu Lu
Lu Lu is currently in foster care with the same foster mom who cared for Cyrus and currently cares for Ollie. Lu Lu is friendly but a bit timid. She is morbidly obese and on a health journey to help shed those necessary pounds.

Mabel
Mabel came into our care in November 2023 with Scarlett, Tony, Jeffrey, and Ernie due to an eviction. Mabel is very friendly and loves affection. Mabel lives with Ernie and is often the first one to greet you when she sees you coming!

Maia
Maia came into our care in early 2021 after her caretakers were going through a divorce. Maia is one of the tiniest pigs at the Sanctuary, but don’t let her size fool you. She is a little firecracker when it comes to other pigs, but as sweet as pie with her human friends.

Marley
Marley came into our care in the fall of 2021. He can be a cantankerous old man and he loves to lick all the food bowls clean! He is fiercely protective of his beloved BFF Maggie May and he has a very heartwarming smile.

Midge
Midge came into our care in the fall of 2021. He loves to cuddle with his brothers and sisters in a giant cuddle puddle. He also enjoys rummaging through nature’s debris looking for snacks to chew on and play with.

Mojo
Mojo came into our care in the fall of 2021. He is initially very shy around people but is very sweet once he gets to know you. He also has the best tusky smile.

Neville
Neville came to us in 2019 after his caretakers had to sell their farm and move to the city. They were unable to find Neville and his brothers a suitable home so they came to live at the sanctuary. Neville is an absolute sweetheart who just wants to be everyone’s friend.

Nibbles
Nibbles came into our care in the fall of 2021. She loves to nibble on your ankle when given the opportunity. She will frequently nuzzle your pant leg in an attempt to access your ankles. She also loves belly rubs and is sleeping buddies with Maggie.

Olive
Olive came to use in early 2021 due to her caretakers’ divorcing. They were unable to rehome her due to biting behaviour. Olive’s biting is linked to very poor vision and her trying to bite when she thinks you have food. She is incredibly fond of belly rubs and will flop over in a heart beat. Olive resides with our diverse needs pigs and is in charge of the herd.

Olivia
Olivia came into our care in the fall of 2021. She is the winner of the best teeth award. She is very active and you will frequently see her exploring her enclosure. She also loves to explore fresh straw, hunting down tiny seeds within.

Ollie
Ollie came into our care after his owner was no longer able to care for him due to a serious medical issue. Ollie is very solitary and enjoys a good sunshine nap!

Oscar
Oscar came into our care in the fall of 2021. He is very laid back and frequently saunters around at a very slow pace. He loves to wallow in the mud on a sunny day. He also looks identical to his Mama Emma.

Paisley
Paisley came into our care in the fall of 2021. She will jump up and place her hooves on the top rail of the fence any time you have her food or a treat. She moves around like a shark, weaving in and out of the other pigs in her herd.

Penelope
Penelope was surrendered due to depression and morbid obesity. To date, she has shed over 130 pounds and is able to move freely around the sanctuary grounds. She still suffers from fat blindness, but her vision is starting to improve with weight loss. Pen is an incredibly sweet pig who would spend all day sleeping in the sunshine if she had it her way.

Penny
Penny came into our care in the fall of 2021. She ABSOLUTELY loves wallowing in mud, so much so that we think she’s part amphibian. She will frequently get the zoomies and race around her enclosure, tossing members of her herd aside if they get in her way. If you see her in person, her ears will remind you of angel wings!

Petunia
Petunia came into our care in the fall of 2021. She is very meek and shy when around people. She is exceptionally gentle when she takes a treat from your hand, but she is one of the top pigs in her herd. If someone bites her in the bum, she will soon retaliate with a bite of her own to show them who’s boss.

Piggy Sue
Piggy Sue came into our care in the fall of 2021. She is an expert biter and will send almost every human running if you enter her domain. She is easy to spot because her hackles are frequently up, but she is very sweet with the other pig members of her herd. When we put fresh straw in her shelter, she is often caught moving straw around her boyfriend, Buddy, making him a nice comfy bed while he naps.

Prince
Prince came into our care in the fall of 2021. He is incredibly vocal and is the top pig in the Fern Valley herd. He has beautiful ears and he is very fond of you giving them a good, gentle rub.

Priya
Priya came into our care in the fall of 2021. She is like a little nymph in the woods. She is exceptionally sweet and often seeks volunteers out for affection. She is also very noisy at meal time which ensure she is one of the first ones fed!

Puddin
Puddin was part of an unexpected litter of piglets and was soon surrendered to a rescue organisation in Victoria, B.C. Due to her shy nature, she was having difficulty being adopted so we chose to take her in.
Puddin is known for her sweet personality and flirtatious eyelashes! -

Ringo
Ringo came into our care in the fall of 2021. He is an expert bowl licker. He will lick out absolutely every bowl after meal time to make sure he doesn’t miss one drop of food! He also has beautiful orange eyelashes which are sure you win you over in a heartbeat.

Sarah
Sarah came into our care in the fall of 2021. She is an absolute doll. She is kind, sweet, and exceptionally gentle. But don’t let her demeanour fool you, she is also exceptionally strong and will give you a run for your money if you need to assess her for any ailments.

Scarlett
Scarlett came into our care in November 2023 with Jeffrey, Ernie, Tony, and Mable due to an eviction. Scarlett is quite timid but she’s also very curious. Once she’s comfortable, she will come up for some pets.

Schnyder
Schnyder was surrendered into our care after his owner fell on hard times and was not able to care for him properly. He was living in a bedroom with no access to the outdoors and suffering from depression. When Schnyder arrived he was under weight and covered in mites, but after a few months of TLC, he made a full recovery. Schnyder absolutely loves his freedom, and even a rainy day won’t deter him from exploring the outdoors. He also LOVES to eat snow and chunks of ice…then shiver after he’s had his fill.

Skyler
Skyler came into our care with Jake after they were abandoned on a property in the middle of winter. They were only being fed every second day, so we took them into our care immediately. Skyler is very social and is the top pig in his herd!

Sophia
Sophia came into our care in the fall of 2021. She is the social butterfly of the Fern Valley herd. She is one of four “oreo” pigs at the sanctuary. She has distinct mothering characteristics and a very nurturing manor about her.

Spanky
Spanky came into our care in the fall of 2021. He is exceptionally cautious of people and you’re lucky if you can get within 5 feet of him. He adores making himself a giant comfy straw bed that he can have glorious naps in.

Talula
Talula came into our care in the fall of 2021. She is a lover of pumpkin. She is also exceptionally good at stealing everyone else’s food, which has resulted in her being put on a diet to shed those extra pounds. She is one of our more senior members and resides in our senior herd.

Tony
Tony came into our care in late 2023 after he and 4 other pigs need to be rehomed due to an eviction.
Tony is sweet, social, and very affectionate. He lives with Scarlett and Jeffrey. -

Tunie
Tunie came to us in November 2018 due to several health concerns that needed to be addressed. Tunie was morbidly obese which has resulted in “fat blindness,” her hooves were extremely overgrown, and she has a hernia on her back end. She has now lost over 150 pounds, regained her sight, and has a new lease on life. She is also the resident “grumbler” and always has a story to tell!

Wilson
Wilson arrived into our care in February 2024 via the wonderful team at PEACE Rescue & Resources. Wilson was listed online for free because he has an inguinal hernia. A very kind person took him in as soon as she saw his ad online and soon reached out to us for support.
We are currently working on socializing Wilson as he’s quite timid. -

Winnie
Winne, along with her sister, Clarabelle, came into our care in November 2024 after they needed to be rehomed.

Winston
Winston came into our care in the fall of 2021. He has the fastest legs at the sanctuary and he will follow you anywhere if he thinks you have food. He is the tiniest pig here. He is what every thinks they are getting when they purchase a “mini pig,” but his size is a rarity. When you meet him you will absolutely adore him and his tiny stature.
